Our strategy

NHS Scotland Climate Emergency and Sustainability Strategy 2022 – 2026

The Scottish Government and NHS National Services Scotland developed the NHS Scotland Climate Emergency and Sustainability Strategy 2022 to 2026.

The strategy reflects our commitment to delivering the UN Sustainable Development Goals and to a green, just and resilient recovery in responding to the challenges of the COVID-19 health crisis and the twin challenges of the climate crisis and biodiversity loss.

It replaces the Scottish Health Technical Note 02-00 Sustainable Development Strategy for NHS Scotland 2012.
